These listing is for a SINGLE handmade Ipe Yawara stick. The yawara originated in japan and is used with one or two sticks. If you would like a matching pair please see my alternate listing.
These cylindrical yawara vary in length from 4" to 13" and have a width of 1"
The materials consist of solid Ipe hardwood which is the hardest available North American wood. This wood is cherished for its impact qualities. Due to its weight in the hand and high resistance to denting, this is one of the best materials for using as yawara.
These are also excellent for designing or carving your own custom made yawara. They can be used in woodturning as well and modified into a functioning kubotan.
Each are finished with several coats of Linseed and Beeswax oil, which adds beauty protection and retains a solid gripping surface.
*Most of our items are made to order so please allow 1-2 weeks for completion. If you are buying more then 4 items, I would suggest please contacting by our e-mail below first to confirm the availability of supplies and delivery time for you.
The shipping cost for Yawara is $4.95. Yawara are sent typically using a USPS first class package. Tracking is included. For multiple yawara we combine shipping costs in one package.
Please note: I have discontinued the solid hickory yawara. Due to ipe yawara being vastly superior in weight, which is very desirable and crucial for yawara jutsu. We do still sell hickory yawara but in 1,1/8 octagonal shape which has many advantages as well.
Thanks!
