This listing is for Solid Ipe Tanbo Sticks. The Ni Tanbo are also known as Kali Sticks or Escrima Sticks. The Tanbo are a martial arts training tool used in many Kobudo styles usually wielded in pairs or singly in Arnis style South American Martial Arts. This is an upgrade from common Rattan sticks. These sticks are considerably wider than normal. They come in 1,1/8" sizes or 1,1/4" sizes. They are either sold in Pairs or Individually as a single stick. These Sticks come in various sizes up to 28".
*Please keep in mind, that if you order a pair, the weights on both sticks will be matching. If you order more then one single stick, these sticks will NOT be matching weight. As they are advertised as single sticks.
The materials consist of extra wide solid Ipe wood which is twice as hard as hickory. It has a beautiful dark brown color and feels heavy to the hands.
These sticks can weight around a pound each, and more for the 1,1/4 versions. So they are excellent for wrist strength training.
Each are finished with several coats of Linseed and Beeswax oil, which adds beauty protection and allows the users hands to slip effortlessly up and down the stick, which is required for proper technique.
