This is a handmade Wooden Hanbo Staff. The Hanbo Staff is a traditional Martial Arts training tool used in Kobudo style martial arts. Its diameter is a constant 1 inch throughout its length. One inch thickness is the traditional thickness for all shorter Martial Arts Weapons. Making these staffs about the same size as traditional cane. This staff also comes in a longer length of 42 inches, which is a cross between the feel of a hanbo and a jo staff.
The materials consist of Southern Appalachian hickory hardwood. Hickory is the hardest available North American Hardwood, and is excellent for all uses. These staffs may come in solid hardwood variety or laminated, depending on availability of wood, and the wood quality.
Hickory is cherished for its superior impact qualities and feel and is the strongest and safest woods to use for staffs.
*For the discounted staffs, these staffs have some flaw such as uneven grain or a pin knot, or some other aesthetic feature that makes them not suitable for contact, but perfect for all other solo uses.
It is finished with several coats of Linseed and Beeswax oil and sanded to a fine finish, which gives it a permanent shine and and amazing feel in the which allows the hands to slip effortlessly up and down the staff.
