*This listing is for Ipe staffs intended for solo use only. If you would like the partner exercise A grade wood, please see my other listings for Ipe.
All of these variations are for a staff that is 1" in width. Please see which versions are available at checkout.
*Each of the staffs in this listing are beautiful excellent heavy wood, (unless explicitly listed as lightweight) however there may be some places where the grain is not ideally straight or with some sections with minor pin knots. These can be made to any size and would be EXCELLENT for strength training, kata, or home use due to the weight of the wood which do not involve contact. So as such I have discounted the price on each of these by 10$ and would recommend these for any and all non-contact purposes. Such as hiking, kata, or solo training, or tournaments. If you would like the premium ideal grain staffs, please check out my other listing for the A grade staffs. Often these staffs are more beautiful than straight grain as patterns on the wood emerge. These staffs have no other imperfections and are as straight as all my other staffs.
For the staffs labeled as "Lightweight" These are lightweight for ipe. Comparable to a medium grade hickory. Not recommended for contact. Perfect if you want speed and also a beautiful brown color for your sticks. These may also not have perfect straight grain, and are best for more speed and use in technique or hiking.
Ipe is an exotic heavy wood. Ipe is twice as hard and heavy as common American Hickory. It has an amazing dark brown color. It is one of the hardest woods in the world. It has an amazing smooth sturdy feel.
It is sanded down to a shine and finished with several coats of Linseed and Beeswax oil, which gives it a permanent shine and protective layer while allowing the users hands to slip effortlessly up and down the staff, which is required for proper technique.
Thanks!
