This is limited edition rare exotic wood Bubinga tanbo pair or single stick option. Bubinga is also commonly called African Rosewood. Bubinga is a beautiful hard heavy exotic wood. The tanbo staffs or kali sticks are a traditional training tool used in Kobudo style martial arts. These sticks have a lengh of 24" or 28" in length. Its diameter is 1 inch through out its length.
Bubinga is considerably harder then American Hickory. It has an amazing smooth sturdy feel. It has a beautiful dark reddish color.
I have a limited supply of these, so this is a limited time offer.
*If you need a different size then available, please send me an email at scrapwoodmartialarts@gmail.com and I would be happy to cut them to whatever size you like
When testing the wood, it seemed more brittle then either hickory or ipe, so it may not be suitable for contact. However as I do not sell this wood that often, I do not have extensive experience with Bubinga's qualities. To me they are more of a staff with a good solid feel and a beautiful reddish hue. It is up to the user to research and decide whether they should be used for contact in this case.
It is sanded smooth and finished with several coats of Linseed and Beeswax oil, which gives it a permanent shine and protective layer while allowing the users hands to slip effortlessly up and down the staff, which is required for proper technique.
Thanks!
-Adam
